Renovations aim to improve the safety, security and cleanliness of the York-Dauphin Station eastbound exit stairs (corner of York and Front streets).
Project Location and Hours
Construction will happen weekdays from 6 am to 2:30 pm. Crews may work until 5 pm on some weekdays. Occasional Saturday construction between 5 am to 1 pm may be necessary.
Impact on Customers
- The exit stair at York and Front streets will be closed for the duration of construction. Customers exiting the train will be directed to use the overhead crosswalk and exit from the westbound platform/stairs at Dauphin Street.
- The sidewalk on York Street will be closed. Jersey barricades will be placed on Front Street but will be set six feet off the curb to allow pedestrian access.
- The fare line will be relocated from the platform level to street level.
- The Route 3 bus will operate as normal.
**The contractor working on sandblasting and painting the steel girders and steel support structures along the east end of the Market-Frankford Elevated Line will be suspending its work at the corner of Front and York streets while this project is being performed.
