Several large events around the City of Philadelphia this upcoming weekend will force some SEPTA bus routes to operate on detour routings. A list of those anticipated to have the largest impact is included below:
Sunday May 4, 2014 from 4:00am until race finish
Broad Street Run
All SEPTA bus routes that use or cross Broad Street (Routes 3, 4, 7, 9, 12, 16, 17, 21, 23, 27, 29, 31, 32, 33, 37, 38, 39, 40, 43, 44, 48, 53, 54, 56, 60, 61, 64, 68, 75, 79, 124, 125, G, J, H, R, XH, R will use detours that avoid portions of their route that use or cross Broad Street.
Additionally, routes 3, 17, 29, 39, 64, 75, 79, and G will use modified (cutback) service on the eastern and western portions of their routes. Trolley Route 15 will operate, but with substitute bus service. Riders should anticipate additional travel related delays due to traffic congestion, especially on routes departing the Olney Transportation Center. Additional service on the Broad Street Line, including 12 express trains, will be available for race participants & spectators.

Philadelphia Science Festival Carnival
Bus routes 7, 32, 33, 38, and 48 will detour around closure of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway between 19th and 23rd Streets.
Saturday May 3, 2014 from 2:00am to 7:00pm
Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival
Bus routes 9, 12, 21, and 42 will have westbound service detours around the closure of Walnut Street between Broad Street and 20th Street.
Sunday May 4, 2014 from 6:00am until 7:00pm
Chestnut Hill Home and Garden Festival
Bus routes 23, 77, 94, 134, and L will detour around the closure of Germantown Avenue between the 8000 and 8700 blocks.
When possible, passengers should consider using SEPTA’s subway and regional rail network for travel to minimize the potential for any trip delays. Regular SEPTA commuters, who own a weekly or monthly Transpass are reminded that “anywhere” privileges are extended to pass-holders, with no additional fare zone charges applicable across the entire SEPTA system.
