Coming to a Station Near You: The SEPTA Philabundance Bus

SEPTA's Sixth Annual Food Drive is October 20 -November 3

SEPTA’s specially wrapped Philabundance bus will be stopping at SEPTA Regional Rail stations and Transportation Centers throughout the Greater Philadelphia region October 21 through November 3, collecting donations of canned foods for the authority’s sixth annual “Stop Hunger at Your Station” drive. The drive, which supports Philabundance and its agencies, runs now through November 3.

The “Stop Hunger at Your Station” SEPTA bus schedule is:

  • Tuesday, October 21: Media Regional Rail Station, 6:30-9 am, and 69th Street Transportation Center West Terminal, 3-6 pm
  • Wednesday, October 22: Warminster Regional Rail Station, 6:30-9 am, and Olney Transportation Center, 3-6 pm
  • Thursday, October 23: Cornwells Heights Regional Rail Station, 6:30-9 am, and King of Prussia Transportation Center, 3-6 pm
  • Friday, October 24: Lansdale Regional Rail Station, 6:30-9 am, and Jenkintown Regional Rail Station, 3-6 pm
  • Monday, October 27: Fern Rock Transportation Center, 6:30-9 am, and Fort Washington Regional Rail Station, 3-6 pm
  • Tuesday, October 28: Exton Regional Rail Station, 6:30-9 am, and Swarthmore Regional Rail Station, 3-6 pm
  • Wednesday, October 29: Frankford Transportation Center, 6:30-9 am, and Bryn Mawr Regional Rail Station, 3-6 pm
  • Thursday, October 30: Norristown Transportation Center, 6:30-9 am and 3-6 pm
  • Friday, October 31: 69th Street Transportation Center South Terminal, 6:30-9 am, and Bethlehem Bus Loop/Chestnut Hill East Station, 3-6 pm
  • Monday, November 3: SEPTA Headquarters, 1234 Market Street, Philadelphia, 6:30-9 am and 3-6 pm

The bus will be in regular service for passengers on the Route 17 bus on Saturday, October 25, from 6:30-9 am and 3-6 pm, and on the Route 23 bus on Sunday, October 26, from 6:30-9 am and 3-6 pm

Customers can also drop off donations of canned and boxed goods in marked barrels at 43 designated locations throughout the transit system (a list of locations can be found at https://www.septa.org). CCT customers wishing to participate will be able to give their canned good contributions to their vehicle operator. Philabundance is especially in need of:

  • Canned or shelf stabilized tuna
  • Canned pasta
  • Canned beef ravioli
  • Creamy peanut butter (plastic containers only, please)
  • Jelly (plastic containers only, please)
  • Cereal
  • Oatmeal

The public can make a donation to Philabundance online to help feed neighbors in need. Any monetary contribution will count toward the total collected through the SEPTA 2014 campaign. In 2013, SEPTA’s customers and employees contributed a record 25 tons of food. Since 2009, SEPTA customers and employees have donated 90 tons of food.

Philabundance is the largest hunger-relief organization in the Delaware Valley, feeding 75,000 people every week. In 2013, Philabundance distributed 30 million pounds of food across the Delaware Valley.
