Grade Crossing Renewal To Affect Roadway Access In Delaware County This Month

This month, SEPTA will undertake a grade crossing renewal project along the Media/Elwyn Regional Rail Line temporarily closing local roadways to traffic in Delaware County.

On Thursday, August 5 through Tuesday, August 10, Amosland Road will be closed between Franklin and Highland Avenues near the Morton Regional Rail train station. Trains at Moylan-Rose Valley, Wallingford, Swarthmore, and Morton-Rutledge Stations will change boarding location during this time.

On Thursday, August 26 through Tuesday, August 31, Swarthmore Avenue will be closed between College Avenue and Dartmouth Avenue, near the Swarthmore Regional Rail train station. Passengers should look for boarding locations to change between Moylan-Rose Valley and Morton Station.

The grade crossing renewal projects will allow crews to reconstruct the existing grade crossings and install new concrete crossings for a smoother ride. Roadway detours and signs indicating alternate passenger platform boarding locations will be posted.

Train times will not be affected and station parking facilities will remain open. SEPTA bus Routes 107 and 109 will not be impacted during the closures.
