Midday Weekday Shuttle Bus Service Planned on SEPTA’s Fox Chase Regional Rail Line

Due to improvement projects along SEPTA’s Fox Chase Regional Rail Line, shuttle bus service will be used for midday, weekday trips, Monday through Friday from 9 am to 3:30 pm, beginning Monday, August 29 through Friday, November 18, 2011. Shuttle buses traveling to Fern Rock Transportation Center will replace Regional Rail Service at Fox Chase, Ryers, Cheltenham, Lawndale and Olney Stations.

For trips to Center City Philadelphia, shuttle buses will depart Fox Chase Station at regularly scheduled train times and serve Ryers, Cheltenham, Lawndale and Olney Stations before connecting with inbound train service at Fern Rock Transportation Center. Passengers should allow up to 20 additional minutes to complete their commute.

Trains traveling to Fox Chase will continue to Fern Rock Transportation Center after Wayne Junction and connect with shuttle buses serving all stations to Fox Chase. Up to 25 minutes will be added to passengers’ trips. Departure times at Center City stations will not change.

The weekday shuttle bus service will allow SEPTA to complete several improvement projects along the Fox Chase Line, including tie replacement, track surfacing, brush cutting and the installation of a new station platform and canopy at Ryers Station.
