New SEPTA Regional Rail Line Schedules Go Into Effect Sun., Jan. 14

New SEPTA Regional Rail schedules will go into effect on Sunday, January 14. The new schedules will focus on significant service adjustments to weekday train times on the Paoli/Thorndale and Trenton Regional Rail Lines. The new schedules are designed to improve on time performance and enhance service reliability.

As part of the January 14 Regional Rail schedule change, the schedules for SEPTA bus routes 201, 204, 205 and 206 will also change, effective Monday, January 15 to provide better connections with rail service.

Customers should refer to the timetables for specific service information as most Regional Rail Lines have adjustments to train departure and arrival times. The new schedules are available for download at: https://www.septa.org/schedules/upcoming-rail.html Customers can also look for signage posted at stations for additional service and boarding information.

SEPTA encourages Regional Rail passengers with iPhone or Android devices to sign up for the SEPTA App. Current Android and iPhone app users can receive the latest version of the Regional Rail schedules by updating the SEPTA App on Sun. January 14. To update the iPhone app, users should tap “Settings” and then “Update” to get the new schedules. Riders using the SEPTA app for Android devices should visit the Google Play Store for updated schedules. The ‘Next to Arrive’ feature at http://app.septa.org/nta/ provides personalized schedule information for customer trips and also delivers real-time train status information to a customer’s cell phone.

Highlights of the January 14 schedule change are as follows:

For most lines, select trains will depart from stations earlier or later than previously scheduled.

Significant changes were made to weekday trains on the Paoli/ Thorndale and Trenton Regional Rail Lines with select trains departing earlier than previously scheduled. Customers should refer to the new schedules at: https://www.septa.org/schedules/upcoming-rail.html for details.

Airport Line

Changes include adjustments to departure times and train originations. Train #4848 which departs at 4:37 pm will now serve Fox Chase stations. Customers traveling to Melrose Park, Elkins Park, Jenkintown-Wyncote and continuing to West Trenton Line stations should transfer at Suburban Station for connecting service. Train #8549 will now originate from Fox Chase and provide continued service to the Airport.

Chestnut Hill East

Changes include adjustments to select train departure and arrival times for select inbound and outbound weekday trains.

Chestnut Hill West

Minor adjustments were made to train times with select inbound and outbound trains departing earlier or later than previously scheduled.

Cynwyd

Train service remains consistent with the previous (September 10, 2017) schedule; however customers should still refer to the timetable with the January 14, 2018 effective date.

Fox Chase

Adjustments were made to select train departure times. Train #8549 departing from Fox Chase at 6:23 pm will now provide continued service through Center City to the Airport.

Glenside Combined

Changes include adjustments to service at Jenkintown-Wyncote, Elkins Park and Melrose Park stations. Customers should refer to timetables for service information.

Lansdale/Doylestown

Train times on select inbound and outbound trains are earlier than previously scheduled. Inbound train #509 will now depart from Lansdale at 6:40 am and operate up to four minutes earlier at all stations. This train will also operate express between Jenkintown-Wyncote and Temple University stations. Inbound train #575 departing from Doylestown Station at 5:31 pm will now make stops at Elkins Park and Melrose Park stations.

Outbound train #550 will now depart from Suburban Station at 11:28 am, and arrive 10 minutes later at all stations. Train #562, will now depart from Suburban Station ten minutes earlier at 2:05 pm and will depart from all outbound stations 10 minutes earlier through Lansdale. Train #562 will still depart from 9th Street Station at the previously scheduled time of 3:15 pm

Manayunk/Norristown

Adjustments were made to departure times with select inbound trains departing earlier than regularly scheduled. Train #237 will depart from Elm Street Station earlier and will now stop at University City Station with continued service to Marcus Hook on the Wilmington/Newark Line.

Media/Elwyn

Select weekday trains will operate earlier or later than previously scheduled. Outbound train #361 departing from Suburban Station at 5:07 pm will operate with D-stops meaning that trains may depart ahead of schedule after the pickup and discharge of passengers at Primos, Secane and Morton-Rutledge stations.

Paoli/Thorndale

Changes include adjustments to train times with departures that are earlier than previously scheduled on select inbound and outbound trains to improve on-time performance. Weekday inbound train #9530, will now originate from Paoli Station at 7:29 am and will depart from all stations up to 3 minutes earlier than previously scheduled. Inbound train #550 departing from Thorndale at 10:08 am will arrive at Center City Station 10 minutes later. Inbound train #562 will now depart from Thorndale at 12:52 pm and will depart from all inbound stations 10 minutes earlier. Inbound train #566 will now depart from Thorndale Station at 1:52 pm and operate up to 15 minutes earlier at all stations.

Trenton

Adjustments were made to train times with select outbound trains departing earlier to better accommodate customers making NJ Transit connections for service to New York – Penn Station. These changes are expected to reduce travel times and enhance service. Customers traveling outbound to the Trenton Transit Center to connect with train service to New York City should refer to the NJ Transit portion of the Trenton Regional Rail Line timetable for complete service information as NJ Transit trains may depart earlier than previously scheduled. Select morning, afternoon and evening outbound trains will depart from SEPTA stations at regularly scheduled times but will arrive at the Trenton Transit Center later than regularly scheduled. Customers should check timetables with the January 14 effective date for train arrival times.

Warminster

Changes include adjustments to train departure times with select trains making stops at Glenside, Elkins Park and Melrose Park stations. Inbound train #4213 which departs from Warminster at 6:40 am will arrive at Center City Stations later than previously scheduled and will now stop at Glenside Station but will no longer serve Jenkintown-Wyncote Station.

West Trenton

Changes were made to weekday inbound and outbound service with select trains departing from stations earlier than previously scheduled. Outbound trains #6358 and #6368 have been combined into train #6368 which will depart from Suburban Station 16 minutes earlier than previously scheduled at 3:01 pm. Evening train #7376 will now depart from Suburban Station at 4:54 pm and operate up to 11 minutes earlier at all stations. This train will now provide extended service to West Trenton with stops at Langhorne, Woodbourne, Yardley and West Trenton.

Wilmington/Newark

Select trains will operate later than previously scheduled. Evening inbound train #9260 will now depart from Newark Station at 8:21 pm and operate between 10-14 minutes later at all stations.
