Sale of Legacy Weekly TrailPasses To End Sept. 9 for Regional Rail Zones 1 and 2

As the summer rolls to a close this month and SEPTA Key rolls out on Regional Rail, SEPTA is reminding Zones 1 and 2 Regional Rail customers, Weekly TrailPasses will only be available on a SEPTA Key Card, beginning Monday, September 9. SEPTA has set dates to begin phasing out sales of legacy TrailPasses to transition customers to Key Cards. Weekly Zone 1 and 2 TrailPasses on a SEPTA Key Card were made available for purchase as of Wednesday, Sept. 4. Register your new SEPTA Key Card to protect it in the event it is ever lost or stolen.

On or about September 11, 2019 we will begin a pilot to sell SEPTA Key Cards and offer Pass loads/reload purchases at the following outlying Ticket Offices:

  • Swarthmore
  • Ambler
  • Villanova
  • Conshohocken
  • Philmont

Ticket Agents at these stations will begin selling SEPTA Key Cards* ($4.95) and customers will be able to load/reload the SEPTA Pass. The Sales windows will be open regular hours.

Customers will be able to purchase:

  • Weekly/Monthly TrailPass – Zones 1, 2, 3, Anywhere
  • One Day Independence Pass
  • Weekly/Monthly TransPass – Not Valid for Weekday Travel on Regional Rail

* Customers who purchase Monthly Parking Permits with their Monthly TrailPass and customers purchasing Monthly TrailPasses through ComPass, WageWorks, Wired Commute, or other corporate programs that provide passes directly to customers should continue to purchase their legacy TrailPasses as they do today. And, customers who currently purchase Tickets (single and 10 trip) should continue to do so.

The newly overhauled Key e-commerce website is also helping customers get started with the new payment system. To register your card or to manage your account, go to https://www.septakey.org/. There is also FAQ’s and other details about the Key program.
