SEPTA Enhances Regional Rail Service for 28th Annual Susan G. Komen Race

Philadelphia Event One of the Most Successful Events in 'Race for the Cure' Series

On Sunday, May 13, SEPTA will provide special early morning Regional Rail service to accommodate crowds heading to the 28th Annual Susan G. Komen Philadelphia Race for the Cure 5K Run/Walk and 1-mile Fun Walk. Additionally, seven SEPTA bus routes and Trolley Route 15, currently operating as a bus, will experience detours around Center City road closures scheduled for the duration of the event.

Regional Rail Service

SEPTA will add additional service to Sunday morning trains to accommodate runners and others traveling to the event. These trips which supplement regularly scheduled Regional Rail service will arrive at Center City stations between 5:30 am and 6:45 am, just-in-time for the official start of race day events at 7:00 am

  • Airport Line: Extra trip departs from Airport Terminals E & F at 5:37 am
  • Media/Elwyn Line: Extra trip departs from Elwyn Station at 5:34 am
  • Glenside Combined Line: Extra trip departs from Glenside Station at 4:52 am
  • Lansdale/Doylestown Line: Extra trip departs from Lansdale Station at 5:07 am
  • Manayunk/Norristown Line: Extra trip departs from Elm Street Station at 5:48 am
  • Paoli/Thorndale Line: Extra trip departs from Malvern Station at 5:26 am
  • Wilmington/Newark Line: Extra trip departs from *Marcus Hook Station at 5:41 am
  • West Trenton Line: Extra trip departs from Neshaminy Falls Station at 5:39 am
  • Warminster Line: Extra trip departs from Warminster Station at 5:26 am

Note: Wilmington/Newark Line train #502 departing from Marcus Hook Station at 5:41 am will operate as scheduled. Customers should note that a special Saturday and Sunday timetable is in effect for all other Wilmington/Newark Line trains for Amtrak track repairs due to a freight derailment.

Bus Detours

Routes 7, 27, 32, 33, 38, 43, 48 and Trolley Route 15, currently operating as a bus, will be detoured around the race course in the area of Benjamin Franklin Parkway between Eakins Oval and Logan Circle and Girard Avenue between Poplar and Lansdowne Drives from 7:30 am until 1:00 pm. On Sunday, May 13.

In addition to the bus detours, riders should also plan for additional travel time and potential travel delays due to traffic congestion in Center City.
