A railroad grade crossing renewal project on SEPTA’s Manayunk/Norristown Regional Rail line will result in weekend shuttle bus service between Norristown Transportation Center (NTC) and Elm Street Station on the weekend of October 29-30, 2011.

Passengers traveling to Philadelphia will board shuttle buses at Elm Street and Main Street Stations 10 minutes before the scheduled train time. Buses will travel to NTC, where passengers will transfer to Regional Rail trains to complete their trips. Trains to Philadelphia will operate normally from NTC and serve all stations inbound to Center City. Passengers traveling from Elm and Main Street Stations to NTC should add 10 minutes to their commutes.

Trains from Philadelphia will operate normally to NTC. Passengers traveling beyond NTC will transfer to shuttle buses for service to Main Street and Elm Street Stations. Passengers should add up to 10 additional minutes to their travel time. Due to the street closure, the outbound Main Street shuttle bus stop will be Main and Cherry Streets.

The grade crossing construction will require the closing of Main Street between Markley and Astor Streets from 9 am on Friday, October 28, 2011,, through 5 pm. On Monday, October 31. Marshall Street will also be closed to vehicular traffic from 10 pm. On Friday, October 28 through 10 am on Saturday, October 29, and again from 10 pm. On Saturday, October 29 through 10 am on Sunday, October 30. SEPTA bus routes 91 and 93 will be detoured around the construction sites.
