SEPTA Key Transition on Regional Rail Continues with October Monthly TrailPasses

Zones 3 & 4 for October Monthly TrailPasses; Zones 1 & 2 in November

SEPTA would like to remind customers that Monthly TrailPasses are moving over to the Key Card, starting with Zones 3 and 4 in October. Monthly passes are available for purchase starting on the 20th of the preceding month, so October passes go on sale starting Friday, Sept. 20.

The phase-out of the old-style, magnetic stripe passes for Monthly TrailPass customers follows similar transitions for Weekly TrailPass customers over the last two months. Following Zones 3 and 4 in October, purchases of Monthly TrailPasses for Zones 1 and 2 will fully transition to the Key Card in November.

Please note: This phase-out of the old magnetic stripe passes does not apply to customers who get their passes through ComPass, WageWorks, Wired Commute or other employer-based programs that provide passes directly to customers. Details on the switch to the Key for customers enrolled in these programs will be announced at a later date.

Key Cards loaded with TrailPasses are available for purchase at all SEPTA sales offices and kiosks at Center City Regional Rail stations, as well as selected outlying stations. For more information on where to purchase a Key Card, visit https://www.septakey.org/info/buy-load-locator.

SEPTA is also working on plans to accommodate customers transitioning to the Key who purchase monthly parking permits, and efforts continue to prepare for the debut of Travel Wallet on Regional Rail. More information will be announced in the near future.

SEPTA urges all customers to register their Key Card as soon as they get it, to protect against loss or theft. It takes just a couple minutes to register your card on the SEPTA Key e-commerce website, https://www.septakey.org/. Customers who register their cards within 30 days of their purchase also receive a full credit for the $4.95 new card fee. Cards can also be registered by calling the number on the back of the card, (855) 567-3782.
