SEPTA to Offer Extra Service for Phillies Playoffs & Sixers, Flyers Games

Broad Street Line Will Have Frequent, Convenient Service To & From Sports Complex

SEPTA is gearing up for another exciting weekend of Philly sports, including the Phillies home games against the San Diego Padres in the National League Championship Series. The Authority is helping the Philly Phaithful get to the big games this week and weekend by offering extra service on the Broad Street Line.

The Broad Street Line provides convenient service to the South Philadelphia Sports Complex via NRG Station. There is a free transfer to the Broad Street Line from the Market-Frankford Line and City Trolley routes at 15th Street/City Hall, and it is a short walk from Regional Rail stations in Center City. It also connects to bus routes that provide service throughout the region, and it is easily accessible from the PATCO High Speed Line for riders from South Jersey.

SEPTA will also provide Regional Rail service on the Wilmington/Newark Line after the Union’s MLS Cup Eastern Conference Semifinal match on Thursday.

Below is the schedule for the upcoming events:

Thursday, October 20:

  • 76ers vs. Milwaukee Bucks: 7:30 pm

SEPTA will supplement regular service to NRG Station with two Local trains leaving Fern Rock Transportation Center at 6:28 and 6:38 pm

  • Union vs. FC Cincinnati: 8:00 pm

SEPTA will hold the last inbound Wilmington/Newark Regional Rail Line train at Chester Transportation Center to accommodate fans after the game.

Friday, October 21:

  • Smashing Pumpkins & Jane’s Addiction Concert: 6:30 pm
  • Temple Owls vs. Tulsa Golden Hurricanes: 7:30 pm
  • Phillies vs. San Diego Padres: 7:37 pm

SEPTA will supplement regular service to NRG Station with five Express and two Local trains leaving Fern Rock Transportation Center beginning at 6:11 pm

Saturday, October 22:

  • 76ers vs. San Antonio Spurs: 6:00 pm

SEPTA will supplement regular service to NRG Station with two Local trains leaving Fern Rock Transportation Center at 4:50 and 5 pm

  • Phillies vs. San Diego Padres: 7:45 pm

SEPTA will supplement regular service to NRG Station with five Express trains leaving Fern Rock Transportation Center every 10 minutes beginning at 6:11 pm

Sunday, October 23:

  • Phillies vs. San Diego Padres: 2:37 pm (if necessary)

SEPTA will supplement regular service to NRG Station with six Express trains leaving Fern Rock Transportation Center every 10 minutes beginning at 1:01 pm

  • Flyers vs. San Jose Sharks: 7:00 pm

SEPTA will supplement regular service to NRG Station with two Express trains leaving Fern Rock Transportation Center at 5:08 and 5:18 pm

SEPTA personnel closely monitor all events to ensure trains are ready for fans at NRG Station afterwards. Even if games run late, subway service will be available. Customers are urged to go directly to NRG Station once the event is over, particularly for late-night events.

To speed up their trips, SEPTA riders are encouraged to load funds on a SEPTA Key Card before game day. For those without a Key Card, Quick Trip tickets can be purchased at all station kiosks.
