Shuttle Buses Scheduled Along SEPTA’s Chestnut Hill West Regional Rail Line

Due to overhead power, signal and track work, shuttle buses will replace train service along SEPTA’s Chestnut Hill West Regional Rail Line between North Philadelphia and Chestnut Hill West Stations on Saturdays and Sundays from July 20, 2013 until August 25, 2013.

Utilizing two routes, the shuttle buses will operate as follows:

Inbound:

Passengers traveling inbound to Center City will board shuttle buses at Chestnut Hill West Station. After leaving Chestnut Hill West Station, the buses will make stops at Highland, St. Martins and Allen Lane stations before expressing to North Philadelphia Station.

Passengers can also board shuttle buses at Carpenter Lane Station. After departing from Carpenter Lane, the buses will make stops at Upsal, Tulpehocken, Chelten Avenue and Queen Lane stations before expressing to North Philadelphia Station.

On Saturdays, inbound Chestnut Hill West trains will only operate between North Philadelphia Station to Center City and will depart 10 minutes later than regularly scheduled train times.

Outbound:

After departing from trains at North Philadelphia Station, passengers traveling outbound to Chestnut Hill West Station will board waiting shuttle buses. The buses will make stops at Highland, St. Martins and Allen Lane stations before traveling to Chestnut Hill West Station.

Passengers traveling to Carpenter Lane will board shuttle buses at North Philadelphia Station. The buses will make stops at Queen Lane, Chelten Avenue, Tulpehocken and Upsal stations before traveling to Carpenter Lane.

Outbound Chestnut Hill West trains will operate as far as North Philadelphia Station. Trains will arrive at regularly scheduled train times.

On Sundays, all trains will arrive and depart from North Philadelphia Station at regularly scheduled train times. Shuttle bus departure times will be earlier than the regularly scheduled train times.

Passengers should add approximately thirty minutes onto their trips. A shuttle bus schedule is available at www.septa.org.
