Weekend Service Adjustments Scheduled on SEPTA Regional Rail for Phase II of the Arsenal Interlocking Reconstruction Project

Work will Impact Multiple Rail Lines June 2 and June 3

Phase II of SEPTA’s three phase improvement project to rebuild the mainline infrastructure on its Media/Elwyn Regional Rail Line between 30th Street and Arsenal Interlocking will take place on Saturday, June 2 and Sunday, June 3. During construction, shuttle buses will operate in place of train service along the entire Airport Line. Shuttle bus operations will also be in effect between 30th Street and University City Stations which will impact the Manayunk/Norristown, Media/Elwyn, Warminster, West Trenton and Wilmington/Newark Regional Rail Lines.

Schedules and service information will be posted at SEPTA Regional Rail Stations prior to the start of construction. Train and shuttle bus departure times will be different from regularly scheduled train times. Customers should visit www.septa.org/arsenal or look for signage posted at stations for updated information as additional weekends of construction might be required.

A summary of Phase II service adjustments is as follows:

Shuttle buses will replace all trains between 30th Street Station and Airport Terminals A-F. Airport Line shuttle buses will not service University City Station. Customers should transfer at 30th Street Station for service to University City Station.

Outbound customers traveling toward Elwyn will board shuttle buses at 30th Street Station. After departing from 30th Street Station, the buses will travel to 49th Street Station where customers will transfer to Media/Elwyn trains for continued travel towards Elwyn. Customers should note that outbound trains will depart later than regularly scheduled.
