Schedules by Text

SEPTA riders can send a text message to get automated information about the next four scheduled trips for bus, trolley, and subway services by following these steps:

1. Subscribe to the Service

  • Open the messaging app you normally use.
  • Start a new text.
  • Type the word septa (all lowercase) as your message.
  • Send the message to 41411.
  • You will receive a message in response, asking if you want to subscribe.
  • Confirm your subscription by texting a Y.

2. Find Your Stop ID

Each of the more than 18,000 stops in SEPTA’s five-county service region has a unique ID. Here’s how to find yours using the tool below:

  • Select a Route from the drop down menu and click/tap “Go”
  • Select a Direction from the drop down menu and click/tap “Go”

3. Text for a Schedule

  • Now that you have your stop ID, open the messaging app you normally use.
  • Start a new text.
  • Type the word septa and the ID number of the stop you would like.
  • Send the message to 41411.
  • You will receive a message in response with information about the next four scheduled trips.

If your stop is served by more than one line and you want details for just one route, add the route designation number or letter to your text.
