SEPTA and Lyft Announce Partnership To Celebrate Pennsylvania Wine Month

October is Pennsylvania Wine Month and in anticipation SEPTA has teamed up with Lyft to make it easier for SEPTA riders to get to more than 25 wineries in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties.

Under the partnership, Lyft rides will be discounted by up to 30 percent now through October 31 by using a special promotional code available at iseptaphilly.com. The wineries are all located within a short ride from over a dozen SEPTA Regional Rail Stations.

“Our suburbs offer many great attractions including award-winning wineries,” said SEPTA General Manager Jeffrey D. Knueppel. “We thought this partnership with Lyft was a great opportunity for us to provide our customers with an easy and safe way to experience them.

“At Lyft, we are constantly looking for new ways to deliver a great experience for our riders, which includes being a partner to transit like SEPTA,” adds Andrew Woolf, Lyft Regional Director of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. “Our partnership with SEPTA and Pennsylvania Wines is another example of how we’re supporting this initiative, combining public transportation with accessible ridesharing to get Philadelphians where they want to go – including to the fantastic suburban PA wineries this October.”

Here’s how it works:

  • Visit iseptaphilly.com/visitthevines to choose the winery (or wineries) riders want to visit.
  • Take SEPTA Regional Rail to the station closest to winery (Regular fare applies).
  • When you arrive at the station, make sure to apply the VISITTHEVINES promo code to your Lyft account. To request a ride, open the Lyft app and set the destination to the winery to redeem the discount.

“Visit the Vines is a fantastic opportunity to highlight the accessibility of Philadelphia’s nearby wine regions,” said Jennifer Eckinger, Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Winery Association. “With more than two dozen wineries in close proximity to the SEPTA regional rail, a day in Pennsylvania Wine Land is just a few stops away.”

Information about winery and events that are going on throughout the season can be found at PAWineLand.com.
