SEPTA is back on the rails to a championship, with extra service ready to go when the Phillies return to Citizens Bank Park for National League Championship Series action against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday, October 18th.

SEPTA’s Sports Express trains on the Broad Street Line will provide extra service to the Sports Complex for all playoff contests. For Sunday’s Game 3, which is scheduled to start at 8:07 pm, SEPTA will deploy six Sports Express trains to supplement regular service. These trains run every 10 minutes starting at 6:38 pm, departing at the Fern Rock Transportation Center and then stopping at Olney, Erie, Girard, Spring Garden, Race-Vine, City Hall and Walnut-Locust, before reaching the Pattison Avenue Station at the Sports Complex. An average Sports Express trip from City Hall to Pattison Avenue takes just 8 minutes.

SEPTA is also set for what promises to be a busy Monday in South Philadelphia. The Phillies and Dodgers are back at Citizens Bank Park for Game 4 at 8:07 pm, while Bruce Springsteen rocks the Wachovia Spectrum next door at 7:30 pm. To accommodate fans and concert-goers, eight Sports Express trains will be on the tracks, with the first departing at 6:18 pm

For all these events, SEPTA will also provide extra service on the Market-Frankford Line, which offers a quick connection to the Broad Street Line at City Hall. A number of SEPTA bus and trolley routes also provide easy access to the Broad Street Line, as do Regional Rail lines. Regional Rail customers can take trains into Suburban or Market East stations to link up with the Broad Street Line at City Hall. Fans in South Jersey can also get on board. Just take the PATCO High Speedline to the 12th and 13th and Locust Station for Broad Street Line connections.

Using SEPTA to get to the game also allows fans to revel in the glow of victory – without worrying about parking lot headaches and traffic jams. After the games, Express and Local trains will be waiting at the Pattison Avenue Station for the trip home.

SEPTA’s service to big events isn’t just convenient, it’s economical. Fans can get to and from the Sports Complex on the Broad Street Line for just $2.90 by purchasing a two pack of tokens. One-way cash fare is $2. For those using multiple services, big savings are available through SEPTA’s Independence Pass, which offers unlimited, one-day travel on all modes. An Individual Independence Pass is just $10, and up to five members of a family traveling together can ride for just $25 with the Family Independence Pass. Also, SEPTA customers with weekly and monthly TransPasses and TrailPasses can use their passes for travel to and from events.
