Stimulus Construction To Cause Closures At Fairmount Station For One Week

On Saturday and Sunday (December 5-6), Broad Street Line service will bypass Fairmount Station for the entire weekend, due to simultaneous local platform and ceiling repairs at both Girard and Spring Garden stations. Regular service will return for the AM rush-hour December 7.

Monday through Friday evenings (December 7-12) from 9 pm. Through the end of service, there will be no Broad Street Line service to or from Fairmount Station as overnight construction continues. Regular subway service will operate during the day.

Riders traveling northbound who wish to go to Fairmount Avenue will have to exit the Broad Street Subway at Spring Garden Street and transfer to the Route C bus. Southbound passengers will have to exit at Girard Avenue to transfer to the Route C bus to Fairmount Avenue. Riders are advised to plan additional travel time.

The Girard and Spring Garden Station Revitalization Project is the largest of 32 federally funded SEPTA stimulus construction projects designed to improve transportation while invigorating the economy by creating jobs.

Passengers may telephone the SEPTA Customer Service Department at (215) 580-7800 for further information.
