Stimulus Construction To Close Girard Station

Stimulus Construction To Close Girard Station

This weekend (March 27-28), the Girard/Spring Garden Station Revitalization Project will close Girard Station as concrete is poured for new platforms adjacent to tracks 2 and 3 and significant structure repairs are made.

Riders wishing to go to Girard Avenue will have to board the Route C bus on Broad Street at Fairmount Avenue northbound or Cecil B. Moore Avenue (Temple University) southbound. Route 15 passengers who wish to travel south from Broad Street and Girard Avenue must transfer to the Route C bus back to the Broad Street Line at Fairmount Station.

Recent construction has caused overnight and weekend closures of Fairmount Station between Girard and Spring Garden Stations.

The Girard/Spring Garden Station Revitalization Project is the largest of 32 federally funded SEPTA stimulus construction projects designed to improve transportation while invigorating the economy by creating jobs.
