Weekend Service Suspensions Set For Some Trolley Lines

Emergency Drill, Maintenance To Cause Temporary Disruptions

An emergency preparedness drill and routine maintenance will cause temporary service suspensions on some of SEPTA’s Trolley routes on Sunday, August 23, 2009.

From 6 am to noon on Sunday, August 23rd, no Trolleys will operate in the tunnel at the 36th Street Portal, where a full-scale emergency simulation drill will take place. During this time, Trolley routes 10, 11, 13, 34 and 36 will not serve Juniper, 15th, 19th, 33rd, 36th, 37th or 37th Street stations. Customers can use the Market-Frankford Line to 40th Street Station for connections to and from these lines.

Service in the tunnel at the 36th Street Portal for Trolley routes 10, 11, 13, 34 and 36 will also be diverted from 10 pm. Sunday through 5 am Monday to 40th and Market streets for routine maintenance. Customers can continue travel to Center City by using the Market-Frankford Line Night Owl bus service at 40th Street.
