Weekend Shuttle Bus Service Scheduled on SEPTA’s Fox Chase Regional Rail Line

Weekend Shuttle Bus Service Scheduled on SEPTA’s Fox Chase Regional Rail Line

Due to maintenance projects on the Cottman Avenue bridge and Oxford Avenue grade crossing, shuttle bus service will be used on SEPTA’s Fox Chase Regional Rail Line to serve Fox Chase and Ryers Stations on the weekends of October 15-16 and 22-23.

For trips to Center City Philadelphia, shuttle buses will depart Fox Chase Station at regularly scheduled train times and stop at Ryers Station before connecting with trains at Cheltenham Station. Trains will continue to Center City from Cheltenham. Passengers should allow up to eight additional minutes to complete their commute.

Trains leaving Center City will travel as far as Cheltenham Station. Passengers traveling to Ryers and Fox Chase Stations must transfer to shuttle buses at Olney Station to complete their trips. Up to 18 minutes will be added to passengers’ trips. Departure times at Center City stations will not change.

Due to the Oxford Avenue grade crossing work, Oxford Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Rhawn Street and Verree Road from 9 am Friday, October 21 through 7 pm. On Monday, October 24. All vehicular traffic, including SEPTA’s Route 18 bus will be detoured around the worksite. The road closure will allow crews to reconstruct the existing grade crossing and install new concrete crossings, allowing for a smoother ride on Oxford Avenue.
